In his new role, Mark will work alongside Envoy’s portfolio businesses to support growth and help further develop the high-performance culture that underpins Envoy’s approach.

Mark has built a career around achieving world firsts and breaking records. Having cycled around the world twice, he currently holds the 18,000-mile circumnavigation record, completing the feat in just 78 days and 14 hours. Beyond cycling, his record-breaking expeditions have included ventures through the high Arctic, mountaineering challenges and ocean rowing. Most recently, in February this year, he achieved another Guinness World Record by completing the world’s highest marathon.

With a background in economics and politics, Mark was a partner at Eos Advisory for six years, investing in predominantly Scottish science and technology start-ups in healthcare and environmental sustainability. Before this, he was corporate ambassador for LDC for 14 years. Mark was also awarded a British Empire Medal in the Queen’s New Year Honours for services to sport and charity.

Founded by Matt Stevenson, Ecosystems Technologies was established to accelerate the transition to a carbon-negative built environment. Headquartered in Invergordon, the business designs and manufactures modular buildings, with a team of 33 focused on advancing technological innovation and environmental performance in construction.

This partnership marks Envoy’s 30th investment and reflects our commitment to backing founder-led businesses that are driving meaningful change.

160 leaders from across the Envoy Group gathered in Edinburgh for a two-day conference and gala dinner to mark seven years of trading and a reaffirmed focus on the future.

Colleagues travelled from Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East to celebrate the expansive growth of the Scottish-headquartered investment group, which is expected to breach £500 million revenue in 2026.

Attendees enjoyed a series of talks and panel sessions reflecting on the group’s journey while setting out its future ambitions. Engineering excellence, productisation, climate-tech and artificial intelligence were among the core topics discussed, with speakers anchoring these themes in practical applications that underpin the group’s value proposition.

The conference also marked the official relaunch of Envoy’s brand and website – a milestone moment that reflects both how far the business has come and its ambitions for the years ahead.

EOS Europe is a specialist provider of electrical services to the energy and marine sectors, delivering critical projects for clients across the UK, USA and Norway. Their specialist services include hazardous area inspections, technical auditing and inspections, project planning and management, construction and installation, testing and commissioning, and ongoing maintenance support, alongside international procurement and design review capabilities.

This partnership represents a key step in strengthening Modutec’s in-house turnkey offering, enabling the Group to support clients more effectively across the full project lifecycle.

Accord has completed an investment in Future Group, creating a new partnership between two Highland-based businesses with complementary expertise across technology and infrastructure.

Together, the combined team of 90 specialists strengthens the capabilities of both businesses and enables a fully integrated end-to-end IT service – from installing fibre and cabling infrastructure through to configuring networks, deploying technology and supporting entire IT environments.

By combining Accord’s expertise in software development, cyber security and IT support with Future Group’s strengths in structured cabling, networking, civils groundworks and asbestos surveying, the partnership can support projects from the earliest infrastructure stages right through to the systems and services that keep businesses operational.

Both companies will continue to operate under their existing brands while benefiting from closer collaboration and shared expertise.

The event saw the entire workforce take part, with teams from across the business competing for the coveted winners’ trophy. The tournament created a memorable atmosphere, giving colleagues the chance to have fun together while celebrating another successful year for the business.

Adding to the significance of the day, Modutec also proudly celebrated the achievement of 5 million safe manhours, a major milestone that reflects the company’s strong commitment to safety. In addition, long-service awards were presented to recognise colleagues for their dedication and continued contribution to the business.

Sheet metalworker Ged Keigher retires after an incredible 58 years with the company, alongside welders Alan Smallwood, who has completed 38 years of service, and Ged Yates, who retires after 21 years.

During their careers, they have worked all over the world for the business, deploying their skills in numerous countries, including China, Israel, and various spells in the Middle East and throughout the UK.

Ged, Alan and Ged all began their careers with the company many years before Envoy’s involvement, and we are delighted that they chose to remain part of the team for so many years following our investment. Their loyalty and experience have played an important role in supporting the business through different phases of growth and change.

Envoy is proud to have so many long-standing members across the wider group, with colleagues choosing to build long and fulfilling careers within the business.
